The post comes at a significant time, as President Donald Trump is in a public dispute with media outlets including CNN, Politico and MS NOW.
Along with the promotion of the mobile app, the White House has also announced a 24x7 YouTube livestream titled "Trump TV: The Essentials Station". The livestream features nonstop speeches, announcements, and the biggest moments of the Trump administration, according to the White House.

Both the promotion of the mobile app and the launch of Trump TV drew attention on X, with supporters praising Trump and calling it a smart move to bypass mainstream media.
Meanwhile, critics have called the move a page from the playbook of Russia and North Korea. Some have labelled it propaganda or spyware and compared it with state-run media models.
